Description

VIP is a 28-amino-acid neuropeptide widely distributed in the gut, pancreas, and central nervous system. It acts via VPAC receptors to induce vasodilation, modulate smooth-muscle relaxation, stimulate glycogenolysis, and regulate immune responses. In research, VIP is used to study cardiovascular regulation, neuroprotection, metabolic signaling, and gastrointestinal secretion.
